CRB Expands into a Beautifully Renovated Space
After nine months of construction following a design by Sam Kriegman, Ed Colgate, and Kevin Lynch, CRB students and staff moved into the newly expanded CRB Central space in November. This space consists of flexible open research space, a fabrication space, a wet lab, high-performance computing, meeting spaces, and more. Adjoined by the CRB East and CRB West wings, CRB Central brings the collaborative robotics research space to over 15,000 square feet.
With the recent awarding of the NSF Human AugmentatioN via Dexterity Engineering Research Center (HAND ERC), the CRB West wing also expanded to include the beautiful adjoining A-wing atrium. The atrium houses the state-of-the-art Dexterity Nexus (DexNex) dual-armed dexterity testbed, which will demonstrate the new technologies produced by the HAND ERC.
