Tom Wagner, CEO of Berkshire Grey, Visits the CRB
Tom Wagner, founder and CEO of robotics company Berkshire Grey and former CTO of iRobot, shared his journey in building commercial impact with a technology during a recent visit to the CRB. Wagner offered candid thoughts and take-aways in how to build a team, work with VCs, build customers, establish a work-life balance, and embrace uncertainty. During his three-day visit as The Querrey InQbation Lab Executive-in-Residence, Wagner presented to a full room, "Creating a Technology Company from Idea to Impact: Dogs and Cats Living Together". He visited with student groups and faculty in the InQbation Lab, Center for Robotics and Biosystems, Shirely Ryan Ability Lab, and Robot Design Studio.
Wagner's career has spanned academia as a professor at the University of Maine, research at DARPA, business leadership as CTO of iRobot and Founding CEO at Berkshire Grey. In 2016, he received the CICS Outstanding Achievement in Technology Development Award. iRobot is a recognized world leader in mobile robot products that grasped objects in unstructured and dynamic domains, is a publicly traded company is recognized for shipping more robot products than any other company anywhere in the world.
